Transit Authority Figures Renames

We’re excited to share that Transit Authority Figures is now Small Universe. This new name marks an evolution in how we present ourselves to the world, aligning our name more closely with who we are and what we stand for as a creative studio.

Why the Change?

Though “Transit Authority Figures” was a unique and memorable name, it sometimes led to confusion. People occasionally mistook us for a transportation agency or assumed we worked exclusively in transit-related projects. Because one of the highest goals of good design is to create clarity, we took it to heart that our name was sometimes doing the opposite. We’re proud of the creative journey Transit Authority Figures represented, the way it tied in with our fake subway maps, and the clients we’ve been honored to work with. Now we feel it’s time to move forward with a name that speaks more clearly to our purpose and vision.

Why “Small Universe”?

We see each project we take on as its own small universe—a unique ecosystem of ideas, stories, and connections. Our role is to help our clients discover what makes their brand distinctive, then use design to bring their world to life. “Small Universe” captures the essence of what we do: creating thoughtful, interconnected designs that communicate, resonate, and inspire.

A brand’s universe is its unique world, crafted to draw people in, spark curiosity, and leave them wanting to explore further.

While our name has changed, our commitment to delivering beautiful, accessible, and impactful design remains as strong as ever. Thank you for being part of our journey—we’re thrilled to explore this new phase with you!
